Problem Scope

There is no unified way to discover other Uber products or connect between them.

  • For Users  Less awareness of everything they can do as part of the Uber community and subpar experiences  from inconsistent entry points.

  • For Uber Teams compete for real estate, miss opportunities for growth, and replicate work.

Hypothesis

Presenting Uber products in a unified way across apps will increase engagement by helping users discover new Uber products and easily connect between the ones they already use.

My role

I led the design of R2D One Uber project, and hand it over to engineers in July 2017.

User insights:  I partnered with the PM to uncover insights from interview and survey data, and translate concepts into features that address user pain points and promote growth of Uber services.

Planning & scope definition:  I worked with the PM to clarify the definition of the product.

Leadership: I designed up and presented works to gain buy-in stakeholders including Driver Team product leader, managers and designers in Driver team and UberEATS team.

Evaluation: I worked with user researchers to host Cognitive Walkthrough sessions, collected feedbacks and made iterations to make the product more intuitive for users.
